With Filipinos’ love for gaming events, Galaxy surely has brought enthusiasm to sport fans all over the country. “Galaxy Battles II: Emerging Worlds” has been promoted by Fallout Gaming, a Malaysian-based Esports marketing company and Purpose Win Entertainment Limited (PWEL), a Hong Kong-Malaysian based Esports company – both are organizers of international tournament.

After a neck-to-neck battle with Evil Genuises, the VGJ Thunder went home victorious. The total prize pool for the event was $500,000 USD.

E-sports professional athletes are licensed by the Games and Amusements Board (GAB), a Philippine agency mandated by law (Presidential Decree No. 871) to supervise and regulate Philippine professional sports. All Esport athletes are required to undergo drug testing as a requirement to secure license. Likewise, permits are issued by GAB for all professional games and tournaments held in the Philippines.
